The Discerning Palate Personal Chef Service is owned and operated by David Barnes. After nearly 20 years as a IT Developer, Technician and Consultant, David decided to follow his true passion in life cooking.
David's love of cooking began when he was a small boy growing up in the rural Midwest. Being surrounded by great family cooks and wholesome farm-grown ingredients gave David an appreciation for the bounty nature has to offer.
As David set off on his IT Career in his early twenties, he had numerous opportunities to travel North and South America, Europe, Africa and Asia. While David was there to perform the task at hand, he also took time to experience and understand the local cuisine at every opportunity. This knowledge acquired through many years of exposure provides his clients with a keen insight into ethnic cuisine from all parts of the globe.
He has literally traveled the world and cooked for discerning palates on 3 continents. David continues to travel extensively in search of ethnic cuisine ideas, new recipe concepts and preparation techniques which he incorporates into his services to the satisfaction and praise of his clientele.
